Dear Neighbors,

We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming response we received during the first week of Alpha Season 3. We had the pleasure of welcoming hundreds of active neighbors into Lummelunda and thousands showed interest to play, your enthusiasm was nothing short of inspiring.

With the introduction of Season 3 on June 27, we brought an exciting new feature to the game: crafting. This feature gave everyone a clear purpose for fishing and farming, as these activities allowed you to gather resources to create customizable Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). The response was phenomenal, and we were thrilled to see the sheer volume of items you all created.

However, on Friday, June 29, we noticed a longer delay when players submitted transactions. This delay slowly escalated over the weekend, and by the morning of Monday 3, we made the difficult decision to put the game into maintenance mode. We found the delay in transactions was no longer at an acceptable level for our players, and we felt it was crucial to investigate the underlying issue.

With the help of our partners at ChromaWay, we quickly discovered that the number of NFTs created, which astonishingly exceeded 100.000, was the root cause of the degraded performance. This investigation proved to be a valuable exercise for both our team and ChromaWay. We learned much about addressing this issue and working together to build a scalable solution. While the issue is relatively straightforward to solve in code, it’s much more challenging to do so while the season is live.

We believe that our alpha seasons are an opportunity for us to test the game together with the community, and we want to ensure that we provide the best possible experience for our players. Therefore, we have made the decision to restart the season at the end of August once we have properly addressed the issues. We have already gathered a lot of feedback, and we want to ensure that when we open up again, we do so with a game that is not only fun but also runs smoothly and efficiently.

We understand that this decision may be disappointing to some, but we are certain it is in the best interest of our players and the game. We are committed to delivering a high-quality gaming experience and are confident that this decision will allow us to do just that.

On a more positive note, the introduction of the decentralized Chromia token bridge for the $ALICE has worked really well.

We encourage you to withdraw your deposited $ALICE. However, if you choose to keep them, we will help you migrate them to the new season.

To withdraw your tokens, you can claim them back here: https://play.myneighboralice.com/alpha-access/

Furthermore, if you have any NFTs deposited, you are more than welcome to leave them as they are, as they will be safely moved over in a similar fashion to how they were moved from Season 2 to Season 3.

Thank you for your understanding and patience. We are creating a better gaming experience and stronger My Neighbor Alice.

We eagerly anticipate your return to Lummelunda at the end of August.
