Some time ago, we introduced a unique system that combines the thrill of crafting in-game items with the power of $ALICE tokens. This new way makes our community unique and gives our committed players a special feeling of being exclusive.
But there’s more to it than that. We’re innovating for innovation’s sake and honoring our promise in our whitepaper. By linking staking to crafting in-game items, we’re fulfilling our commitment to our neighbors from day one!
Also, our smart mix of staking and creating in-game items goes well with our brand plan. Branded items now need $ALICE tokens as security, making them more valuable in the online market since they get a guaranteed floor price attached to them.
After the end of the Alpha Season 3 on October 23, you can see that we have improved our Marketplace to make it easier for you. By clicking on the top right-hand corner, you can see the section under “My assets”: “Staking”. This page for staking displays all your $ALICE tokens from Chromia.
Each item shows how much $ALICE is used as collateral so you can see everything. Transparency is guaranteed.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there. Our Marketplace also shows you how much unclaimed $ALICE your wallet holds, allowing you to claim it instantly whenever you want. The rewards compound over time, so they accumulate if you leave them longer. Additionally, we make it simple for you to view information about your most recent claimed rewards.
How does it work?
When a user crafts an item (mints an NFT) in the system, a percentage of the purchase price goes into a special wallet connected to the item. Each item has a balance of $ALICE, which benefits users by providing a guaranteed floor price and ensuring the tokens always have a guaranteed value. Users can sell back this item in the next game season (burn it) to claim the collateral amount, or they may keep the item and continue using it in the game. Additionally, at the end of every season, players passively receive rewards for every item crafted with $ALICE, which we refer to as staking.
Example: If you paid 10 $ALICE to buy a t-shirt, then 5 $ALICE will become collateral, and you will earn rewards on that.
