Antler Interactive announces My Neighbor Alice, a new blockchain multiplayer game
Welcome to My Neighbor Alice — a unique blockchain-based game, where users get to build, create and play together. It’s a game which aims to make blockchain features simple and fun even for non-crypto players who have no idea what NFTs are. With a fun narrative and attractive ways of monetization, the objective of My Neighbor Alice is to introduce blockchain to millions of gamers.
What is My Neighbor Alice?
My Neighbor Alice is a multiplayer builder-game where players build their own virtual lands, interact with neighbors, perform exciting daily activities and earn rewards. Anyone can join the world by buying a piece of land and participating in various activities such as farming, fishing, bug catching and beekeeping. Activities, shared quests and competitions bring valuable rewards and upgrade players’ status in the game.
Players can design and decorate their lands with different in-game items, or NFTs. These are represented as plants, flowers, trees, buildings or animals, among other things. They also get to experiment with the landscape and use innovative in-game tools, such as an NFT Creator and a Game Builder to make their game experience as unique and special as they want.
My Neighbor Alice includes an in-game marketplace where players can buy and sell different game items and NFTs, avatars which allow them to personalize their game characters, an on-chain forum where players get to meet each other and a progressive reputation system which motivates players to upgrade their status in order to get access to exclusive events and NFTs.
Decentralised governance
My Neighbor Alice revolves around the idea that players should be placed in the centre of all decision-making powers related to the game. Thus, ALICE token holders will be invited to join the Decentralised Autonomous Organization, called the Community Council, where they get to vote and strategize on the most important decisions about game development, NFT’s approval, upcoming competitions and plans. Over time, the members of Community Council will also be able to manage and distribute the revenues to the team for additional game development. My Neighbor Alice often takes inspiration from real-world models of governance and decision-making to ensure that users truly own the game.
In-game DeFi elements
Enabling monetary incentives for the most committed players is one of the key strategic visions within My Neighbor Alice. As DeFi is actively integrating with the gaming industry, the game creators made sure players can enjoy in-game DeFi elements to monetize their participation and gameplay. Some of the features will be enabled right after the early (prototype)launch of My Neighbor Alice in January of 2021 (invitation only). For example, players will be able to stake their in-game ALICE tokens to earn yield. In the future, My Neighbor Alice will offer NFT collateral which will secure the NFT’s value over time and NFT rental which would enable players to rent out their NFTs, such as land, and earn interest.
